Dr. Alexander Salerno has spent nearly 15 years practicing internal medicine at Salerno Medical Associates, LLP, in East Orange, New Jersey. As the primary physician at the second-generation practice, he sees adult and senior patients hailing from urban areas throughout the state. Dr. Salerno is able to address a wide variety of patient needs through unrestricted clinical affiliations with St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, the Clara Maas Medical Center in Belleville, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic. Dr. Alexander Salerno is certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration and licensed for Controlled Dangerous Substances by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.
Beyond his professional obligations, Dr. Alexander Salerno oversees a not-for-profit organization, The Urban Healthcare Initiative Program (UHIP) which focuses on health care lectures within urban communities. It’s through these lectures that UHIP bridges disparity in healthcare outcomes within minority populations . He has also established a scholarship fund through the local Baptist church, which annually provides financial support to underserved young men and women seeking higher education.
